A visit to the Stromness Museum is a must when visiting the Orkneys. My wife and I went there. The tickets cost £6 per adult, but £10 for a family of husband and wife and two children. I offered £10 and asked for a family ticket, but the lady demurred, and asked for £12. But we are a family, we pointed out. Yes, she conceded, but with no children, I will have to charge you for two adults.
