John and Bill had been best friends since primary school, as had been Jane and Blanche.
Once they got married, John and Jane became best friends with Bill and Blanche. They went to the theatre together, regularly met for barbecues. Of course they went on holiday together. Gradually John and Blanche discovered that they had fallen in love with each other, and at about the
same time Bill and Jane also began pining for each other.
However all four of them had a strong sense of loyalty, and nobody confessed their feelings…
And lived unhappily ever after.
