A Christmas Carol for our Times
The Father overhears his eight-year old daughter arguing with her friends about Santa Claus, who might be a He or a She, or even if They exist. When the friends leave, he asks his daughter what conclusion they had arrived at, and she happily informs him that Santa was real.
Look, he says, I think you’re old enough to know the truth, it’s just something parents tell their kids, it’s a lie.
No dad, you’re wrong.
Come off it, he says, do you believe in nonsenses like one Santa can be going into every single house on the planet with billions of tons of toys to deliver them, in Norway, the South Pole, in Canada, Brazil, and all in one night?
But dad, all that can be explained by science. In Space, a billion tons weigh nothing. And doesn’t Quantum Science teach us that a molecule can be in different places at the same time? As for everything being done in one night, what about Einstein’s theory about time being elastic?
